Yendi Municipal Establishes Civic Education Club at Dagbon State SHS

The Yendi Municipal Office of the NCCE has inaugurated a Civic Education Club (CEC) at Dagbon State Senior High School as part of efforts to reorganise CEC clubs in basic schools. The restructure has become necessary as most executives of CECs in some schools have completed and moved on to higher education.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Osman Kassim, the Yendi Municipal Director, underscored the importance of Civic Education Clubs in shaping young minds. He noted that members of the club are equipped with knowledge of the 1992 Constitution, governance, and the understanding of civic responsibility. He encouraged the students to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution and serve as good ambassadors of both the NCCE and their school.

Mr. Salifu Umar, the club’s patron, commended the NCCE for its dedication to nurturing students and preparing them for future responsibilities. He acknowledged the Commission’s vital role in equipping young people with civic knowledge and skills, reinforcing the importance of civic engagement in national development.
