NCCE INTENSIFIES CIVIC EDUCATION IN EASTERN REGION’S OKERE DISTRICT

The Okere District office of the National Commission for Civic Education has intensified civic education activities in the district. Several activities have been carried out to educate community members on civic-related issues. The recent activity was the 2023 Constitution Week celebration. A Principal Field Education Officer, Michael Ewool, visited the Abiriw Mosque within the Okere District to engage the worshipers on the Commission’s theme for the Constitution Week celebration: “Thirty Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy; Building National Cohesion through Civic Education and Participation in Local Governance". Mr. Ewool commended Ghanaians for contributing to 30 years of uninterrupted constitutional rule.

He said the 1992 Constitution remains the only constitution that has lasted this long in the history of Ghana. He called on citizens to appreciate Constitutional democracy and support nation-building efforts.

On the upcoming District Level Elections, Mr. Ewool encouraged the participants and all eligible voters actively participate in the exercise when a scheduled date is announced.
