LET’S MAINTAIN AN ATMOSPHERE OF PEACE AND ESCHEW VIOLENCE

Civic Educators in the Bono East Regional Office of NCCE have interacted with officers of the Ghana Immigration Service in the regional capital, Techiman as part of the 2023 Constitution Week Celebration with Security personnel. The engagement was on the theme, “Thirty Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy: Building National Cohesion through Civic Education and Participation in Local Governance”.

The resource person for the engagement was the NCCE Bono East Regional Director. Mr. Joseph Kwaku Yeboah.

Highlights of the discussion include;

  • Appreciation of 30 years of uninterrupted Constitutional Democracy under the Fourth Republic.
  • Achievements of NCCE during the 30 years under the fourth republic.
  • Gains made during the Fourth Republic and its challenges.
  • The need for all the citizenry to participate in the 2023 District Level Elections.
  • Possible extremist threats to Ghana and the need to be vigilant.

Mr. Joseph Kwaku Yeboah educated the officers on the gains made during the Fourth Republic and its challenges and the possible extremist threats to Ghana. He urged them to be vigilant. He pleaded that they restrain themselves from using violence on civilians unless their actions would cause harm to the public. Mr. Yeboah briefed the officers on Ghana’s journey in achieving 30 years of uninterrupted constitutional democracy and the role of the NCCE in civic education.

Mr. Yeboah reminded the officers about the upcoming District Level Elections and urged them to actively participate in the exercise to elect leaders at the community level.
