Assin South NCCE Hosts Independence Day Quiz for Basic Schools

The NCCE Assin South District office organised a quiz competition for ten (10) basic schools at the Assin Ngresi Pentecost Church. The event, held as part of activities marking Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations, aimed to enhance students’ knowledge of the 1992 Constitution and promote civic education. Participating schools included Assin Kyinaso D/A Basic School, Domeabra D/A Basic School, Nkran/Ngresi D/A Basic School ‘A’ and ‘B,’ Darmang Catholic Basic School, Atobiase/Kyekyewere D/A Basic School, Achiase D/A Basic School, Asamankese Ahmediyya Basic School, Asamankese D/A Basic School, and Otabil Krom D/A Basic School.

At the end of the keenly contested competition, Nkran/Ngresi D/A Basic School 'A' emerged as the winner with 51 points, closely followed by Nkran/Ngresi D/A Basic School 'B' with 50 points. Darmang Catholic Basic School secured third place with 34 points, while Asamankese Ahmediyya Basic School, Assin Kyinaso D/A Basic School, and Atobiase/Kyekyewere D/A Basic School tied for fourth place with 29 points each. The remaining schools ranked as follows: Asamankese D/A Basic School 7th with 23 points, Domeabra D/A Basic School 8th with 22 points, Achiase Basic School 9th with 16 points, and Otabil Krom D/A Basic School 10th with 12 points.

As part of the recognition for their participation, each school received a copy of the 1992 Constitution, a certificate of participation, storybooks, and other educational materials. The event reinforced NCCE’s commitment to fostering civic responsibility among young learners while encouraging them to engage actively in national discourse.
