Civic Education Knows No Bounds – Ncce Delivers Sim Card Registrtion At Awudome Cemetary

It is the goal and mandate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to reach out to every citizen in every part of Ghana with its Civic Education messages on important national issues. As part of Civic Education activities in Korley Klortey District of the NCCE in the Greater Accra Region, officers have engaged workers of the Awudome Cemetery on the National Sim Card Registration Exercise. The NCCE is supporting the National Communications Authority to actively engage the public on the need for every citizen to participate in the national exercise.

Nana Kwesi Boateng, a Civic Educator with the Korley Klottey office of the NCCE, educated participants about the importance of the registration, saying, the move will enable the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the various network providers to track and have records of every SIM in order to help curb fraudulent activities.

Mr. Boateng explained that the registration is in two phases. The first phase is the SIM Registration stage where one has to link their Ghana card to their SIM card by dialing *404# and follow the prompt. The next stage is the Bio-capture stage where one has to visit the network provider to get personal details captured into the biometric system.

Mr. Boateng demonstrated the registration processes to the workers and asked them to dial *404# to get their Ghana Card linked to the SIM card. He said a unique code will be given to you which you will present to the service providers to get your Bio-data captured to conclude the second phase.
