The Garu District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has taken to the air to commemorate with Ghanaians its Annual Constitution Week celebration.
Speaking during the morning show on Quality FM, Mr. Samuel Akolgo, Principal Civic Education Officer (PCEO) reminded Ghanaians that the Annual Constitution Week Celebration is meant to commemorate the country's return to constitutional rule, which Ghanaians voted massively for in a national referendum. This led to the adoption of the draft Fourth Republican Constitution on 7th January 1993.
Mr. Akolgo explained the core values and principles in the preamble of the 1992 Constitution. The core values he said are liberty, equality of opportunity and prosperity, freedom, justice, probity, accountability, respect for the Rule of Law, respect for fundamental human rights, unity, and stability for our nation.
The PCEO also appealed to citizens to be ready and willing to take the COVID-19 vaccine when it is available in the district. He also encouraged them to continue to observe the COVID-19 safety protocols even if they had taken the vaccine.
