Amasaman Parliamentary Candidates meet with Constituents

Aspiring Members of Parliament for the Amasaman Constituency have engaged electorates within that catchment enclave as we inch towards the December 7 Polls. This dialogue was facilitated by the Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education as part of prior activities to inform the decision-making processes of voters.

Director of the Ga West Office of the Commission, Mrs. Edith Akpene Awudor, in her address echoed the importance of the Dialogue, indicating that it affords candidates the avenue to articulate their visions for the constituency, which could serve as a guide to the electorates in the exercise of their franchise come December 7 General Election.

Parliamentary Candidates present included Mr. Yahaya Kassim Atta, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Jerry Nii Ashietey Armah, and Mr. Samuel Denoo, both of whom are independent candidates.

In turns, they all addressed the participants, assuring them of their unwavering commitment towards development of the Constituency in the areas of Education, Employment, Health, and the Economy, which are sectors the NCCE’s “Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter” revealed as top priority areas to the citizenry.

The candidates also pledged to contributing to ensure that a free, fair, peaceful, and violent-free elections is realized within the constituency.

Towards the end of the event, participants did not hold back in expressing immense appreciation to the Commission for availing such a platform for them to seek clarity on the promises and policies of their parliamentary candidates, which, according to them, will inform who they will settle on to represent them on the floor of Parliament.
