The Oyibi Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged members of the Lom Nava Motor Bikers Association, Sasaabi Sub-Committee, on the importance of national ethics and the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP).
The educational program sought to sensitize participants on the harmful effects of corruption and the need to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability in their daily activities. Members were also taken through the core objectives of NACAP, with emphasis on corruption prevention and the promotion of transparency among citizens.
During the engagement, officials highlighted provisions of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, particularly Chapter Six, Article 35(8), which mandates the State to take appropriate measures to eradicate corruption and the abuse of power. Participants were reminded that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility that requires the active involvement of all citizens.
To reinforce the message, biblical principles on integrity were shared. Reference was made to Proverbs 10:9, which states, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,” and Exodus 23:8, which cautions that “a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.”
The NCCE further encouraged members of the association to reject all forms of bribery, adhere to due process in their activities, and report any acts of wrongdoing to the appropriate authorities.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ethical values and fostering a culture of accountability as part of efforts to build a corruption-free society.
