3RD DIALOGUE ON PCVE ACTION IN THE NORTHERN REGION OF GHANA

The NCCE continues to engage and sensitise the public on how as a country, we can prevent and contain violent extremism. These engagements give the Commission and its sponsor; the European Union, the opportunity to interact with citizens on national security issues and the role of the citizen.

One of such engagements recently took place in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital to discuss whether or not, Ghana's youthful population has a potential for socio-economic transformation or a vulnerability to violent extremism.

Chairperson of NCCE, Ms. Kathleen Addy, and other speakers at the event acknowledged the strength, intelligence, and innovativeness that young people bring to the table and mentioned that without the youth, our country will continue to stagnate.

Ms. Addy was of the view that having a thriving youthful population is a catalyst for growth and development and as a country we must continue to protect the interest of the youth and guard them against the influence of violent extremists.
