There is Power in Propagating Truth – NCCE Commission Secretary to Students

Madam Lucille Hewlett Annan, Esq, NCCE’s Commission Secretary, has engaged students of Wesley Grammar Senior High School on the dangers of information disorder. She mentioned that every piece of false information or fake news shared with the public has the potential to cause harm, erode trust, and disrupt social cohesion.

She emphasised that in an era where misinformation spreads rapidly, young people must take responsibility for verifying facts before sharing them. She urged the students to think critically, question information sources, and avoid being used as tools for spreading falsehood. She emphasized on the power of truth and the need to propagate truth instead of falsehood.

The session explored the real-life consequences of disinformation, including its effects on democracy, public safety, and social harmony. Students were encouraged to challenge false narratives and promote accuracy in both online and offline conversations.

The engagement was part of the NCCE’s collaboration with the French Embassy to enhance media literacy and equip students with the skills to navigate the digital world responsibly.
