NCCE in Garu, Upper East Region charges the youth in the district to be peace promoters. During a regular civic education meeting with community members on nurturing good and patriotic citizens, the District Director of Garu, Akolgo Samuel urged indigenes to promote national cohesion and peaceful co-existence among community members.
The District Director of Garu, Akolgo Samuel Atando, called on the youth groups in the district to be concerned with security issues at the community level saying every citizen must be concerned with security matters.
Mr. Akolgo in his presentation tasked the youth to report suspicious characters and activities that may involve terrorism. The call he explained has become necessary because of the threats terrorist groups pose to the peace of the country. He displayed contacts of security agencies to participants and entreated them to report suspicious characters to the security authorities. The contacts include the Ghana Police Service (191/18555/0302773900); the Ghana National Fire Service (192/193); Emergency Service line (112) and National Security (0299014552).
