The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa NCCE Directorate in the Upper West Region has organised a sensitisation talk for Muslims at the Central Mosque on the COVID-19 safety protocols.
The education was centered on the existence of COVID-19, it mode of transmission, symptoms, and how to prevent contracting or spreading the disease.
Mr. lssaque Angme Tivengnang of the NCCE District Office, who took the faithful through some preventive measures on COVID-19 and entreated them to regularly wash their hands with soap under water, observing the social distance protocols, wear face mask among others.
The Upper West Regional Director, Madam Patience Sally Kumah spoke on stigmatisation and urged the people to support persons who have recovered from COVID-19 and not to stigmatise against them. She also entreated them to wear facemasks anytime they stepped out of their houses and make it a habit to observe good hygiene at all times.
