NCCE New Juaben North Office Engages Pope John SHS Students in Drug Abuse Awareness Session

On March 20, 2025, the New Juaben North Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) had an engagement with Students of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary on Drug Abuse and other Related Issues.

The Session was attended by Mr. Ebenezer Acheampong (Municipal Director), Ms. Barbara Nkormah (PCEO), Mr. Saviour Glover (CEO), and Mr. Micheal Appiah Mintah (NSP). Also in attendance were Mr. Seth Ansah and Mr. Douglas, the Civic Education Club Patrons of the School, and other Teachers.

Mr. Acheampong gave a presentation on Drug Abuse, its causes, effects, and the primary factors contributing to its prevalence among youth, as well as the negative effects such substances have on both their mental and physical health.

He urged the students to stay away from hard drugs and any substances associated with drug abuse.

The session also served as an opportunity to encourage the students to join the NCCE Civic Education Club.

Mr. Acheampong urged the students to be agents of change within their communities and report their peers who might be involved in drug usage on campus. The engagement was successful, and the message was well received by the students.
