The NCCE, with funding from the European Partnership for Democracy, has held an interactive session with members of Saints Group, a women’s support network at the Wesley Methodist Church, Palladium, Accra. The meeting sought to create a platform for the Commission to have a seasoned conversation with women to discuss key issues affecting them while receiving guidance on civic responsibility and personal empowerment.
Addressing the group, NCCE’s Director of Administration, Mrs. Dora Hammond, underscored the importance of understanding the 1992 Constitution and how it shapes citizens’ rights and responsibilities. She urged the women to take an active role in civic matters by equipping themselves with knowledge that would enable them to make informed decisions and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
She also stressed the value of girl-child education, calling on the women to prioritise the future of young girls by advocating for their education and personal development. The session reinforced the significance of women standing up for themselves, supporting one another, and actively participating in national discourse.
