As part of activities marking the 2026 Constitution Week Celebration, the Kwahu Afram Plains North District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) engaged congregants of the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Pentecost at Adiemmra on responsible digital citizenship.
The engagements, led by the District Director, Mr. James K. Agrona, were held under the theme "Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility". The programme aimed to deepen public understanding of constitutional values and promote responsible conduct in the digital space.
Participants were sensitised on key digital-age challenges, including misinformation, disinformation, cybercrime, online abuse, online fraud, impersonation, invasion of privacy, child online safety, and Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA). They were encouraged to use digital platforms responsibly and to uphold the rights, freedoms, and responsibilities enshrined in the 1992 Constitution.
The NCCE also highlighted the importance of verifying information before sharing it online, protecting personal data, and promoting respectful online interactions to safeguard national cohesion and democratic stability.
Congregants expressed appreciation to the Commission for the timely and insightful engagement and called for more civic education programmes on issues affecting citizens in the digital age.
The programme was attended by Rev. Father Bossman Gregory of the Roman Catholic Church and Elder Attah Boateng of the Church of Pentecost, who commended the NCCE for its efforts in promoting constitutional awareness and responsible citizenship.
