NCCE Ga West Educates NHIS Customers on Drug Abuse, Cybercrime and Taxation

The Ga West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged customers of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) at its premises in Amasaman on key civic and social issues.

As part of the engagement, participants were educated on drug abuse, cyberbullying, internet fraud, and tax education. Mr. Castro Kofi Appiah, a Civic Education Officer at the NCCE Ga West Municipal Office, served as the resource person.

Addressing drug abuse and online misconduct, Mr. Appiah highlighted their dangers and consequences, urging participants to make responsible choices and use digital platforms in ways that do not expose them to harm or legal sanctions.

Attention was also given to taxation, with participants sensitised on the importance of fulfilling their tax obligations. Mr. Appiah explained that tax revenue plays a critical role in financing national development and supporting the provision of essential public services.

Through the programme, participants were equipped with relevant civic knowledge to help them make informed decisions, respect the laws of Ghana and contribute meaningfully to building a peaceful, responsible and progressive society.
