The Gomoa Central Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education has intensified public education on responsible digital behaviour and civic responsibility through a radio sensitisation programme on Oxygen 105.7 FM as part of the 2026 Constitution Week celebration.
The engagement, led by District Director Constance Akoamoa Boateng and Assistant Director Allan Folivi, was held under the theme "Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility".
Speaking during the programme, Mr. Folivi urged citizens to use digital platforms responsibly to promote national cohesion and democratic stability. He warned against the dangers of misinformation, cyberbullying, internet fraud, and hate speech, stressing that constitutional freedoms must be exercised within the confines of the law. He also highlighted the relevance of the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038), and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772) in guiding responsible online conduct.
Mrs. Akoamoa Boateng further educated the public on tax compliance as a constitutional duty, citing Article 41(j) of the 1992 Constitution. She encouraged small business owners to obtain Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) and regularly fulfil their tax obligations to support national development and business growth.
The programme formed part of NCCE’s nationwide efforts to promote constitutional awareness, responsible citizenship, and accountability in the digital age.
