NCCE calls for end to partisan politics

The USAID/NCCE political accountability activity, geared towards educating the youth to hold duty-bearers accountable in the lead up to the 2024 General Election held an engagement at the Calvary Baptist Church in Akotolante, Ashiedu Keteke. The Deputy Chairman, Operations at the NCCE, Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah emphasized the power held by the electorate and urged them to exercise it peacefully during the upcoming general election. He encouraged voters to let peace prevail and avoid violence at all costs.

Assembly Member for Kinka, Hon. Carlos Mankattah, also advised the community to move away from divisive partisan politics and focus on national unity during the election period. The event, which aimed at promoting peaceful electoral participation, was organised with the support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).

Present at the engagement were the Greater Accra Regional Director, Mr. Mawuli Agbenu, NCCE’s Commission Secretary, Mrs. Lucille Hewlett Annan, IFES Training Consultant, Ms. Juliet Amoah, Nii Boi Kakadann II, a traditional leader and Mr. Solomon Tetteh an opinion leader.
