El-Shaddai Educational Complex at Asankran Breman in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality emerged winners of the 2025 constitutional quiz competition with 61 points, beating three other schools.
Their main contenders, Elohim International School, bagged 59 points, registering the second-place position, while Roman Catholic Basic School and Municipal Assembly Junior High School secured the third and fourth place positions with 55 points and 40 points, respectively.
The annual competition organised by the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), drew pupils from four basic schools in the Asankran Breman community.
The programme themed: “Ghana’s Future, Our Collective Responsibility” was held at the Asankran-Breman branch of the Church of Pentecost.
El-Shaddai Educational Complex took home a cash prize, constitution game, a copy of the 1992 constitution, exercise books, and pens.
The rest were given constitution games and a copy of the 1992 constitution, while all the participants had exercise books and pens.
Miss Abigail Nyarko, a pupil of El-Shaddai Educational Complex, received a cash prize from Nana Opoku Mensah, the representative of the Breman Divisional Chief, for the best contestant.
Speaking at the event, Mr Cornelius Ahiekpor, the Municipal Director of NCCE, Wassa Amenfi West, said the quiz aimed to promote learning of Ghana’s 1992 constitution among basic school pupils in an entertaining way.
He encouraged pupils in the municipality to join the NCCE education clubs in their respective schools to empower them to become active citizens and foster patriotism, and nationalism.
Mrs. Elizabeth Emefa Fiagome, the Municipal Director of Education, Wassa Amenfi West, commended NCCE for organizing an informative quiz programme to mark Ghana’s 68th Independence Day.
Mr. Ebenezer Twum Ampofo, the Municipal Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Wassa Amenfi West, who moderated the quiz, called for more programmes like these to generate interest in learning the 1992 Constitution.
Nana Opoku Mensah, the representative of Breman Divisional Chief, who chaired the programme extended commendations to NCCE for the initiative and suggested that they should involve traditional leaders in future programmes to contribute to their success.
