The Garu District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has called on Ghanaians to embrace positive values and responsible citizenship to help build the nation everyone desires.
Speaking during a discussion on Quality FM in Garu on the theme, "Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want," the Garu NCCE Director, Mr. Akolgo, urged young people to use technology responsibly. He advised them to avoid cyberbullying, online scams, and other harmful online activities, while encouraging them to use digital platforms to learn, innovate, and promote positive values.
The Garu NADMO Director, Mr. Azum Asigri, also appealed to all citizens to uphold democratic principles by respecting the Constitution, obeying the laws of the country, and working together to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Ghana. He stressed that national development depends on the collective efforts of citizens who demonstrate integrity, patriotism, and respect for one another.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Akolgo encouraged every Ghanaian to embrace accountability, hard work, mutual respect, and civic responsibility. He further called on the media to continue educating the public and promoting the values needed to foster national unity and sustainable development.
The discussion formed part of ongoing civic education efforts aimed at inspiring citizens to contribute meaningfully to nation-building by living according to the values that strengthen Ghana's democracy and social cohesion.
