The Oyibi zonal office of the NCCE in the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly (KKMA), in partnership with the Dodowa Ghana National Fire Secretariat (GNFS), organised a fire safety and civic education programme for students of Saasabi Kpone Katamanso Junior High School.
Assistant Station Officer (ASTNO I), David Kortey, led the session on fire safety, educating students on the causes, elements, and classes of fire, as well as effective fire prevention methods. The session included a practical demonstration on early-stage fire suppression techniques to equip students with the skills to respond to potential fire outbreaks.
Other officers from the GNFS present at the engagement were District Commander, Divisional Officer Grade I (DOI I) Mr. David Hoji, Assistant Divisional Officers Grade I (ADO I) Regina Mensah and Rebecca Apenteng, and Assistant Divisional Officer Grade II (ADO II) Michael Nartey.
In addition to education on fire safety, Senior Civic Education Officers (SCEO) Madam Joyce Zowonu and Madam Gracelyn Dogbe, along with Principal Field Officer (PFO) Madam Anita Ayaba Yomedan, educated students on the Arms of Government and the dangers of cyberbullying.
The programme aimed to equip students with practical safety skills while fostering a deeper understanding of their civic responsibilities.
