The Yendi Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education with the support of the European Union has engaged Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs), as part of NCCE's sensitization Preventing and Containing Violent Extremism (PCVE) project. The engagement aimed to equip the members with relevant information on PCVE so that they could guard against being recruited into the activities of violent extremists. Mr. Osman Kassim, Municipal Director of NCCE Yendi, emphasized the crucial role that PWDS play in maintaining community safety. He admonished them to be vigilant and watch out for suspected criminals in their communities, and he urged them to promptly report any suspicious activities to the security agencies. They were educated on early warning signs of radicalization, the importance of interfaith tolerance, and what to do during an attack.
A similar activity was undertaken with Almaktoum Senior School in Yendi.
