EMBRACE GHANAIAN VALUES AND SHUN SOCIAL VICES - NCCE

The Agotime-Ziope District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Christian Ahiawodzi has appealed to the Roman Catholic (RC) School Pupils in Kpetoe to embrace Ghanaian values and desist from engaging in vices exhibited by adult citizens.

Mr. Ahiawodzi explained that the current upsurge in social vices among the youth is a result of the negative influence adults have on their children. "Engaging in such uncultured behaviors will not bring any good results to you but rather derail you from the prosperous future and this is disastrous to the development of our nation", he advised.

Mr. Ahiawodzi made these comments during this year’s Catholic Education Week Celebration at Kpetoe. The celebration was themed, “Catholic Education, the Indispensable Role of Local Managers in Catholic Schools”.

Mr. Ahiawodzi charged the teachers to be deliberate about imparting knowledge by guiding the young citizens to be patriotic leaders with values. He bemoaned the spate of examination malpractices in the country and charged the students to devote time to study and stop seeking for exam questions ahead of exam days.

The headmistress of the Kpetoe RC JHS, Mrs. Margaret Nyanku thanked the NCCE for the insightful engagement, requested more of such engagements and called on the students to practice what has been preached. She however calls for more engagements by the NCCE.
