The Gomoa East Metropolitan Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has deepened its working relations with the Gomoa East Metropolitan Assembly as part of efforts to strengthen civic education delivery and constitutional awareness across the metropolis.
The engagement took place on Monday, January 26, 2026, when the Commission paid a working visit to the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Ms. Margaret Naana Ackom. The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss matters of mutual interest and to reinforce collaboration aimed at reducing civic ignorance, promoting peaceful coexistence, and encouraging law-abiding conduct among residents.
During the interaction, the NCCE highlighted the importance of sustained stakeholder cooperation in advancing democratic values and responsible citizenship, particularly as digital communication increasingly shapes public participation and community relations. The Commission also underscored the shared responsibility of citizens and institutions to uphold Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, including in a digital environment.
Ms. Ackom welcomed the delegation and assured the Commission of the Assembly’s support to enhance its civic education programmes and community engagements within the metropolis.
In related engagements, the NCCE delegation, led by the Gomoa East Metro Director, Mr. Charles Paintsil, paid separate visits to the Coordinating Director, Mr. Selom Tibu, and the Metropolitan Finance Officer (MFO), Mr. Silvanus Anani. The officials pledged their readiness to support the Commission’s work when the need arises and encouraged continued coordination to ensure effective civic education outreach.
The NCCE continues to engage key stakeholders to strengthen partnership support for its mandate and to promote constitutional values and responsible citizenship at the local level.
