In observation of the Ghana month, the Asuogyaman District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education has organized a constitution quiz competition for students within the jurisdiction. This is part of the series of quiz competitions being rolled out by the Commission in all districts across the country in the month of March.
Highlighting the objective of the activity, District Director of the Asuogyaman Directorate of the Commission, Alexander Boakye-Yiadom, stated that the quiz competition is aimed at getting the young ones to appreciate the provisions of the 1992 Constitution, which is the parent legal framework of the country.
Mr. Boakye Yiadom, touching on the essence of upholding civic values of the land, implored the students not to lose sight of the sense of patriotism and nationalism, among other values, adding that they form the very fabric of our identity as Ghanaians.
Gracing the occasion was Mr. Onomah Richard, who is an Administrator at the Office of Ghana Education Service in the District. He charged the students to take their books seriously and respect school authorities. He also commended NCCE for considering such an intervention, which, according to him, can have a greater impact on the students in the area if sustained.
The end of the competition, which took place at the Wesley Methodist Church Auditorium in Akosombo, saw Wesley Methodist Basic School emerging as winners, out of the six (6) schools that were selected for the activity.
