ANLOKODZI COMMUNITY IN HO BENEFITS FROM NCCE OUTREACH ON CORRUPTION

The Ho Municipal office of the National Commission for Civic Education has organised an educational programme to discuss the causes and effects of corruption at Anlokodzi in the Ho municipality. This forms part of the Commission’s public education and awareness creation on the effect of corruption on the State and individuals. About 167 community members benefited from the programme.

The Ho Municipal Director of NCCE, Mr. Francis Dussey focused on the purpose and objective of the Commission for undertaking this important exercise. According to Mr. Dussey, the programme was aimed at building the capacity of community members through education so that they can be accountable and transparent in their daily activities in the community and also demand accountability from duty bearers.

Mr. Dussey added that the Commission wanted the public to understand the modus operandi of corruption and corrupters. He indicated that corruption is a canker that affects every sphere of national development and therefore urged all to serve as ambassadors of change by constantly reminding the people of acts that corrupt the society.

Dumega Emmanuel Dorgbefu, an opinion leader, advised the people to stop taking advantage of their positions for their private gains and also refrained from embezzlement of community funds.

A similar engagement was undertaken by the Kadjebi District office of NCCE.
