The Akuapem North Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has held a stakeholder engagement with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Directorate in the municipality to explore areas of collaboration. The engagement took place on Wednesday, 14 January 2026.
The NCCE delegation was led by the Municipal Director, Ms. Benedicta Duvor, and included Nana Adwoa Oduraa III, and Mr. Eric K. Ocloo. The team met with officials of the Municipal Health Directorate, led by the Municipal Health Nurse, Mrs. Regina Klutse, together with officers from the Health Promotion, Public Health, and Mental Health Units.
During the meeting, Ms. Duvor outlined the Commission’s theme for the 2026 operational year, “Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility.” She emphasized the importance of inter-sectoral collaboration in promoting responsible citizenship, particularly among young people.
Both institutions discussed strategies to intensify child and adolescent health education in educational institutions across the municipality. Key areas of focus included drug abuse, child abuse, and mental health, which were identified as growing concerns requiring coordinated education and advocacy.
