​A delegation from the NCCE, led by its Chairperson, Ms. Kathleen Addy has paid a courtesy call to the Ga Traditional Council at the Ga Mantse Palace in Accra

The delegation from the National Commission for Civic Education, NCCE, led by its Chairperson, Ms. Kathleen Addy has paid a courtesy call on the Ga Traditional Council at the Ga Mantse Palace in Accra. The call by the Commission was to introduce its Chairperson to the Council and also commiserate with the Ga people following the passing of their beloved Queen Mother; Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III.


Ms. Addy and her team were warmly welcomed by the key members of the Ga Traditional Council made up of the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Nii Adote Otintor II, Sempe Mantse, Nii Ahene Nunoo III, Abola Mantse and Ga Atufotse, Nii Kojo Nseni, Ga Sei Wulu Asafoatse Nukpa among others. The Council briefed the Commission on the funeral arrangements for their late Queen Mother. The Ga Mantse underscored the important role the NCCE plays in nation-building and promoting national peace and civic consciousness. He blessed the Commission and called it to reach out to many Ghanaians with the message of peace and unity especially as the country warms up for general election next year to preserve and safeguard Ghana’s democracy.

Ms. Addy was particularly happy to meet the Ga Traditional Authorities and said the Commission has over the years leveraged the influence of traditional authorities in executing its mandate. She added that the Commission will at a later date officially engage the Council on how best the NCCE and the Ga Traditional Council can partner to work for the good of citizens, especially in the Ga State.

Ms. Addy was later ushered to sign the book of condolence to sympathize with the Ga people and wish the late Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Amaedru III a peaceful rest. The Commission as a gesture presented items and a cash donation to the Council.


Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Chairman of Finance and Administration, Lawyer Victor Brobbey, Deputy Chairman of Operations, Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah, and Commission Member, Mrs. Hajara Mohammed Rufai. Commission Secretary, Mrs. Lucille Hewlett-Annan (Esq.), Commission Secretary, Directors from Head Office, Greater Accra Regional Director, Deputy Directors and District Directors.
