Sekyere South NCCE deepens Sensitization on the Delta Variant, Tolerance and Sanitation

The Sekyere South District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education has demonstrated its determination to cover the entire district with well-thought-out civic messages on COVID – 19 (Delta variant), tolerance, and sanitation.

Community folks have been advised to see the Delta variant as a real force to reckon with. According to the District Director, Mr. Evans Nunoo, this has become extremely necessary given the rising number of cases recorded within the district. In his view, sustained and intensified sensitization is the best way to curb the situation.

Communities within the district were encouraged to tolerate one another irrespective of their political, religious, or ideological differences. Apart from Kona where there have been few instances of tension between the Zongo community and the main township, the district has always witnessed a peaceful co-existence: This, according to the district directorate of the Commission, is highly commendable and must be upheld.

Mr. Samuel Odai Botchey, Principal Field Officer, tasked with the special responsibility of promoting environmental cleanliness, spoke about how poor sanitation is impeding the development and progress of the district. He stressed that monies used for keeping the environment clean and desilting gutters could be used to improve the infrastructural base of the district if citizens disposed of refuse properly. He advised the citizenry to do their best in keeping the environment clean at all times.
