The Asutifi North District, Ahafo Region has met with Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) workers, comprising, executives, secretariat workers, drivers, and passengers at the Kenyasi main station.

The engagement was to sensitize them on environmental protection and electoral processes. The District Director, Rev. Collins Robert Annam pleaded with the citizenry to get involved in all the electoral processes this year. He said the Electoral Commission will soon bring out the 2024 elections calendar starting from limited registration of voters, exhibition, and final voting. He advised the youth to avoid being used by some selfish politicians for their parochial interest to foment trouble.

Other staff members present include; Miss Theresa Afrah Adinkrah (ACEO), Miss Matilda Mawusi Doe (ACEO), and Mr. Enoch Baffour-Awuah (ACEO), who also took turns to advise the market people on environmental issues.

The people were equally advised to adapt to current environmental changes and take necessary precautions. For example, they were told to wear face masks, avoid inhaling smoke and dust particles, drink more water, etc. Drivers were told to slow down on untarred roads and dusty environments. The elderly and people with underlying health conditions were encouraged to stay indoors if they had nothing to do outside their homes. Nursing mothers were also told to pay close attention to their babies, especially in this dry season.

A resident of a rural community in the district requested that the education be extended to the Goamu communities.
