The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Office of the NCCE has organized a peaceful procession within its jurisdiction as part of activities to reinforce the message on peace before, during, and after the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
Through the lively major streets and market of Tuna, members of staff, together with the clergy and heads of socio-economic groups, marched while bearing placards communicating messages which zeroed in on election and peace. The eclectic participants ranged from religious bodies to socio-economic groups, as well as residents of the district.
Addressing the gathering, the District Director, Mr. Issahaku Losina, described elections as a necessary activity to the practice of democracy, highlighting that it is an opportunity for electorates to decide on whom they deem fit to steer the affairs of the State. “It is also a chance to determine who speaks for you at the legislature”, he added.
A member of the traditional council of that enclave, Chief Bandoliwura John Kipo, admonished the masses to prioritize Ghana and ensure that all their actions and conducts are aligned to the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
