Reject any aspirant who campaigns on partisanship- Tain NCCE

The NCCE has reiterated that the upcoming District Level Elections is non-partisan thus urging electorates to vote against any aspirant campaigning on a political party line.

According to the Commission, the rules governing the District Level elections require that all aspirants do not align themselves with any political party thus calling on voters to be wary of such individuals who attempt to bring politics into the elections.

This call was made by Mr. Osman Seidu, the District Director of NCCE in the Tain District during an open broadcast at Tainso, a suburb of Nsawkaw in the Bono region.

Whilst enumerating the duties of an Assembly member, Mr. Osman said, they are responsible for the development of their respective electoral areas, hence the need for the electorates to actively participate in the exercise. He noted that the work of an Assembly/Unit Committee member is voluntary thereby calling on voters to vote for persons who are committed and dedicated to the development of the area. He also advised the electorates to reject any aspirant who attempts to lure them with money or any form of inducement aimed at influencing their votes.

The NCCE District Director encouraged voters to go out in their numbers on December 19, 2023, to vote massively to elect Assembly/Unit Committee Members for their electoral area to ensure the development of the area.

Similar activities were undertaken at Japeikrom, Hani, Nsuhunu, Papakyae, Kukuramoa, Yabraso, and Attakrom
