The District Director for the Fanteakwa South in the Eastern Region, Kwadwo Adu-Asare, has asked students to be patriotic by knowing Ghana’s national symbols and identifying with the symbols. He made the call when he met with students of the Nsutam D/A Basic School as part of civic education outreaches on Ghanaian identity and national values.
Mr. Adu-Asare mentioned some of the national symbols to the student which he said include, the national flag, the coat of arms, the Presidential Mace and others. Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare encouraged students to give school authorities the utmost respect and abide by all school rules and regulations.
A Senior Field Officer at NCCE, Jehoshaphat Adusei Frederick, highlighted some of the national values. He mentioned patriotism, integrity, hard work, punctuality, honesty, respect, responsibility and discipline as some of the values students have to uphold. Mr. Adusei entreated the students to take their studies seriously so that they can obtain top scores.
A Civic Field Officer, Richard Annor, urged the students to uphold the value of discipline at school, home, church, mosques and in their public life. He said one value that every student must uphold should be punctuality, not only in reporting early to school but in their work life when they become adults.
