Public Education on Revenue Mobilization

The NCCE Zenu Zonal Council Office, in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality, undertook a public education activity with selected churches. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to promote responsible citizenship, strengthen public cooperation with local authorities, and support sustainable development within the Kpone Katamanso Municipality.

The activity aimed at sensitizing the congregation on the importance of revenue mobilization for local development. Officials from the NCCE educated members on the need to honour their civic responsibilities, including the payment of property rates, business operating permits, and other levies charged by the Assembly.

They explained that revenues collected are used to fund developmental projects such as roads, schools, sanitation, and street lights. Church members were encouraged to serve as ambassadors by educating their families and neighbours on timely payment.

In their response, the church leaders expressed appreciation to the NCCE and the Kpone Katamanso Municipal for the education. They acknowledged the importance of the exercise in promoting awareness of citizens' responsibilities towards local development and pledged their support for the campaign to improve revenue mobilization within the municipality.

The exercise concluded with a call on residents to demonstrate greater commitment to their civic duties by paying approved taxes, rates, and levies promptly.
