A team from the Dormaa Central Municipality Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), led by the Municipal Director, Mr.Seth Broni Tagborloh has interacted with the various Youth Groups of the municipality on the European Union (EU) funded Preventing and Containing Violent Extremism (PCVE) project. This interaction took place at the Dormaa Municipal Old Assembly Hall.
He took the participants through topics including Preventing Violent Extremism in Ghana, Peace Building Mechanisms, and National Cohesion. Mr. Tagborloh urged the youth to prioritise religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and national unity and avoid discrimination. He said this was necessary to promote development in the district.
The Chief Superintendent of the Ghana Immigration Service, Mr. Jimmy Nortey, advised the youth to avoid Extremist groups since they had nothing positive to offer them. He also encouraged participants to be very vigilant when they encounter strangers and unusual mannerisms people depict in the vicinity.
