NCCE URGES GHANAIANS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE VOTERS REGISTER EXHIBITION EXCERCISE

The National Commission for Civic Education wishes to inform Ghanaians about the commencement of the exhibition of the voters register from 10th September 2019 to 17th September 2019.

Are you a registered voter or did you participate in the recent voters registration exercise? Then it is time to confirm if your name has

been captured in the voters register to enable you participate in elections in Ghana.

Chapter Seven of the 1992 Constitution, Article 42 states that “every citizen of Ghana of eighteen years of age or above and of sound mind has the right to vote and is entitled to be registered as a voter for the purposes of public elections and referenda.” You could be denied these rights if your details in the voter's register are inaccurate and your name has not been captured.

The Commission, therefore, urges all registered voters to visit their respective polling stations in person with their voter's ID cards, to have their details verified from Tuesday, 10th September 2019 to Tuesday, 17th September 2019, from 7:00, am to 6:00 pm each day to ensure their names and details are accurately captured in the voter's register. Persons who have misplaced their voter's ID cards can also have their details verified. This exercise will secure your right to vote in the 2019 District Level Elections (DLEs) and Referendum.

Also, families of deceased relatives should submit proof of death of their relatives to the polling stations to have the names of such persons deleted from the voters register to help sanitize the voter's register.
