The Asunafo North Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Ahafo Region bas engaged more than two hundred (200) pupils of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) JHS, Goaso as part of the Citizenship Week Celebration on the theme "Thirty Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy and Building National Cohesion: The Role of the Ghanaian Child."
A Principal Civic Education Officer (PCEO), Mr. Harris Quansah with support from Mr Timothy Avariko (CFO), engaged the pupils and reminded them of the need to help sustain Ghana's democracy by living in peace with each other, keeping the environment clean, and respecting the National Symbols among other civic duties.
Mr. Benjamin Otabil, an Internal Auditor at Michael Adjei Company Limited served as a resource person during the Commission's visits to schools. He encouraged the pupils to take their studies seriously to be good citizens. He mentioned other prominent personalities in society that can be role models to the pupils.
As part of the engagement with the pupils, Mr. Harris Quansah addressed a question from a pupil on how Ghana's currency can be kept neat. Mr. Quansah explained and demonstrated to the pupils some of the ways the Ghana currency, as a National Symbol, can be handled with extra care, neatness, and with respect.
