The NCCE is mandated under the 1992 Fourth Republican Constitution to create and sustain within society awareness of the principles and objectives of the Constitution as the fundamental law of the people of Ghana. In fulfilment of this mandate, the Commission has since 2001 instituted the Annual Constitution Week Celebration spanning from 28th April to May to educate the public to defend this Constitution at all times, against all forms of abuse and violation, as well as educate students on their rights and responsibilities as good citizens.
As part of the 2024 Constitution Week Celebration, the North East Regional Directorate of the Commission engaged the Ghana Immigration Service Command at Nalerigu. The theme for this year's celebration is " Together we can build Ghana, so get involved". The Commission is of the view that nation-building is a shared responsibility hence, all citizens were encouraged to get involved as we prepare towards the December 2024 General Elections. In addressing officers from the Ghana Immigration Service, the Regional Director of NCCE admonished all security agencies to remain neutral and demonstrate a high sense of professionalism during the elections. Ghana looks up to all stakeholders in the election process especially the security agencies who are to protect lives and properties.
