NCCE and UNDP Engage Student Leaders in Governance and Civic Responsibility Dialogue

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), continued its efforts to empower young leaders through the Youth Leaders Empowerment Dialogue. The latest session, held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), brought together student leaders to discuss their role in promoting transparent and accountable governance. The engagement, which followed an earlier session at the University of Ghana, reinforced the importance of youth participation in governance and national development.

The interactive session provided a platform for student leaders to engage with key stakeholders on governance, civic responsibility, and leadership. Facilitated by NCCE’s Director of Administration, Mrs. Dora Hammond, the discussion also featured insights from NCCE’s Director for Programmes, Dr Imurana Mohammed, and Director for Communications and Corporate Affairs, Ms. Rita Amparbin. The dialogue aimed to equip participants with knowledge and strategies to actively contribute to democratic development in Ghana.

The NCCE Chairperson, Ms. Kathleen Addy, emphasised the significance of engaging with student leaders, recognising their potential as future decision-makers. Similarly, UNDP’s Programme Analyst for Peace and Governance, Melody Azinim, highlighted the value of such interactions in nurturing the next generation of leaders. The session underscored the commitment of both institutions to fostering youth empowerment and strengthening democratic values through inclusive and participatory dialogues.
