The Akuapem North Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has admonished congregants of Mampong-Akuapem Mosque to endeavour to peacefully co-exist with their neighbours irrespective of their political inclinations. This sensitization follows the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections that took place in December last year.
A member of staff at the Directorate, Eric K. Ocloo, emphasizing on the essence of staying united as citizens, reminded the worshippers of the shared destiny of Ghanaians, imploring them to respect the opinions of others, which may not necessarily align with their belief systems.
Mr. Ocloo, highlighting the need to curb violence and its related activities, also cautioned against conducts that may serve as impetus to such social vices. He urged congregants of the Mampong-Akuapem Mosque to be circumspect about their choice of words in their interactions with others.
“Instead of involving yourself in fruitless ventures like engaging in fisticuffs with your neighbour, rather embark on activities that are more productive to your advancement and Ghana’s development”, Mr. Ocloo opined.
He additionally encouraged worshippers to embody the democratic values that Ghanaians are known for in the global community, pointing out that we all have a role to play in ensuring the reputation of a peace-loving and hospitable people which we have built for ourselves over the years continues to stand the test of time.
