Kwahu West NCCE calls for violence-free elections

The Kwahu West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has launched an interfaith initiative, visiting groups including True Faith Church, SDA Church, Assemblies of God Church, Church of Pentecost, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Alsuna Mosque, Grace Divine Church, and the Disabled Association.

The Kwahu West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has launched an interfaith initiative, visiting groups including True Faith Church, SDA Church, Assemblies of God Church, Church of Pentecost, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Alsuna Mosque, Grace Divine Church, and the Disabled Association.

The programme, held from October 18 to November 3, 2024, took place at various church premises and meeting locations across Nkawkaw Municipality.

Key speakers, including Mr. Francis Owusu-Adjei (Municipal Director), Solomon Afrifa (CFO), Alex Asante (CFO), Isaac Osei (CEO), and Curtis Kumatse (ACEO), addressed topics such as interfaith tolerance, the influence of money in politics (vote buying), misinformation and disinformation, and the risks of electoral violence.

In collaboration with Republic FM 97.5 MHz, the National Youth Employment Authority, the Election Security Taskforce, and local political parties in the Nkawkaw Constituency, the NCCE also organised a Peace Walk through Nkawkaw’s main streets to promote community unity and peaceful elections.
