As part of measures to inculcate the habit of learning among students, the Krachie East Office of the National Commission for Civic Education has organized a quiz competition among students of some schools within the Municipality. The competition was also an avenue to bring the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana into perspective, towards the celebration of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day.
In a brief address prior to the commencement of the competition, a Civic Education Officer at the Krachie East Office, Sadatu Salifu, urged the students to study hard if they are concerned about making strides in the future, adding that education is pivotal in the current dispensation.
She also encouraged the students to acquaint themselves with the 1992 4th Republican Constitution, charging them to be civic ambassadors anywhere they find themselves as good citizens.
Meanwhile, a representative from the office of Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Municipality, Mad. Bernice Gyato, was full of praise for the Commission for rolling out such a brilliant initiative, which, according to her, provides a platform for the students to gauge their performance in preparation towards the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
In all, a total of twenty-three (23) schools participated, categorized under three circuits – Kwame Akura, Dambai, and Oti circuits. At the end of the fierce contest, three schools, Kwame Akura M/A, Dambai Lakeside M/A, and DACE Demonstration Schools, came out tops with each representing the three circuits.
