West Akim Municipal Directorate of the NCCE, Eastern region has visited selected basic schools in the Municipality as part of its 2023 Citizenship Week Celebration

The West Akim Municipal Directorate of the NCCE, Eastern region has today, 26th May, 2023 visited selected basic schools in the Municipality as part of its 2023 Citizenship Week Celebration. The education and sensitization activities took place at the auditorium of the following schools; Asamankese Presby A JHS, Presby B JHS, Presby C JHS, Salvation Army JHS, and Asamankese Freeman B Primary JHS.

Speaking on the theme; “30 Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy, Building National Cohesion: The Role of the Ghanaian Child”, and with the slogan “Be an Agent of Change”, the Municipal Director, Mr. Daniel Chartey entreated the students to take up responsibilities and roles which will foster change and development of the nation.

Mr. Chartey reiterated the need to uphold values such as discipline, patriotism, respect for authority and the elderly, love, peace, and unity to help build a cohesive society. Assistant Civic Education Officers (ACEOs) Mr. Samuel Gyasi Ansah and Ms. Angela Okoe were in attendance.
