VOTING IS YOUR CIVIC DUTY: DO NOT SELL IT- NCCE

The Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in charge of Operations, Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah has urged officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) not to sell their votes. He gave this advice during the Commission’s 2024 Annual Constitution Week engagement with the GNFS Headquarters, Accra.

Speaking on the theme “Together We Can Build Ghana, So Get Involved”, Mr. Akuamaoh emphasised, “It is a civic duty to vote and no one should pay you to vote. When you sell your vote, you compromise your conscience and ana not demand for accountability”.

He expressed worries about the threat of violent extremism in the upcoming elections and urged them to uphold Ghana’s democracy. He entreated them not to compromise with the peace we are enjoying for anything stating elections would come and go but they had a country to preserve.

The Assistant Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service I (ACFOI), Commanding Officer, James Oheneba Yaw Kwarteng congratulated the NCCE for its consistency in engaging officers of the GNFS as part of its Annual Constitution Week since 2001. He also commended the NCCE for reminding them of their responsibilities to defend the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
