Thirty Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy- Lets avoid Complacency

The office of the National Commission for Civic Education, NCCE in the Fanteakwa South District- Osino in the Eastern Region honored the Commission’s flagship program dubbed Constitutional Week Celebration, with the theme ‘’Thirty Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy: Building National Cohesion through Civic Education and Participation in Local Governance”.

Although the NCCE has helped in consolidating Ghana’s democracy, we should not rest on our laurels but strive to defend our democracy at all times. Mr. Kwadwo Adu- Asare, the District Director made these revealing assertions when he engaged seamstresses and other artisanal groups within the district.

Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare in addressing some selected identifiable groups within the district urged Ghanaians to avoid complacency in consolidating the country's democratic credentials. Ghana is noted to be one of the most peaceful countries in Africa and the world at large.

Mr. Joseph Wiafe Boateng(ACEO) and Mr. Patrick Addo(ACEO) made the seamstress and other artisans aware of the need to uphold and defend the constitution and the need as citizens to live in peace and harmony.

Speakers reiterated the need to participate and engage in local governance of our jurisdiction in the upcoming district-level elections which involve the election of assemblymen and women as well as unit committee members of the various electoral areas.

They entreated all present to take this election seriously and also partake in it to elect the right people to take charge of the governance at the local level to aid and spearhead development. This activity took place on the 22nd of May 2023 at 10:16 am.
