Constitution Week: Asunafo North NCCE Engages Hairdressers on Misinformation and Cyber Safety

In observation of the 2026 Constitution Week Celebration, the Asunafo North Municipal Office of the NCCE has engaged members of the United Hairdressers Association in Goaso on the need to uphold the 1992 Constitution in a digital era.

Convening about thirty-five (35) master-ranked hairdressers, the civic engagement was guided by the theme: “Upholding Our Constitution in a Digital Age, Our Collective Responsibility.”

The Asunafo North Municipal Director, Mr. Harris Quansah, in his interaction with the participants, zeroed in on the importance of protecting Ghana’s democratic values and respecting the 1992 Constitution in the age of social media and digital communication.

He explained that while digital technology has created opportunities for communication and business growth, it also comes with challenges such as misinformation, cyberbullying, online fraud, and hate speech, which can threaten national unity and democracy if not properly managed.

Mr. Quansah urged them to be responsible digital citizens by verifying information before sharing, and using social media platforms to promote peace, tolerance, and national development.

He further reminded the participants that safeguarding the Constitution is a shared responsibility that requires active participation from every citizen, regardless of profession or social status.

Members of the United Hairdressers Association expressed appreciation to the NCCE for the education and pledged to apply the knowledge gained in their daily endeavours, especially on digital platforms.
