STAKEHOLDERS TO ADDRESS CHILD PROTECTION

The Nkoranza North District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education, Emmanuel K. E. Ansah has called on relevant stakeholders to champion child protection issues in the district. He made this call during a live radio discussion on akyeaa 99.1 FM in Nkoranza. Mr. Ansah used the media platform to speak to the masses on the rights of children and issues associated with child protection.

Mr. Ansah lamented the recurring act of neglect of children, especially in the community. He mentioned violence, exploitation, child abuse, and child neglect. He said that in every society, children are seen as the future leaders; and as such, matters concerning children must be taken seriously. He added that poverty and poor parenting also endanger children’s safety, including child marriage, child labor, teenage pregnancy, human trafficking among others.
