Sawla NCCE organises Independence Anniversary quiz for Basic Schools

As a way of commemorating this year’s independence anniversary celebration, the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district office organised a quiz competition among four basic schools at the D/A JHS School library in Sawla, the district capital. Participating schools were St. Augustine’s R/C JHS, Girl’s Model JHS, D/A JHS, and St. Monica’s R/C JHS.

In his opening remarks, the District Director, Mr. Issahaku Losina, said that the main objective of the competition was to encourage students to learn the 1992 Constitution in an entertaining manner.

After a keenly contested competition, D/A JHS emerged victorious with 25 points, followed by St. Monica’s R/C JHS with 24 points. A tie-breaker saw Girl’s Model JHS secure third place with 20 points, while St. Augustine’s R/C JHS placed fourth with 19 points.

A total of 66 participants, including 24 males and 42 females, attended the event. Prizes were awarded to all schools. The competition ended successfully with participants calling for such educational initiatives from the NCCE.
