NCCE, World Vision Ghana Engage Agorhokpo Community on Citizen Voice and Action

The Agotime-Ziope District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with World Vision Ghana, engaged residents of Agorhokpo Community on Citizen Voice and Action (CVA).

The engagement sought to educate community members on the importance of citizen participation, social accountability, and collaboration with local authorities to improve the delivery of basic public services.

Speaking at the program, the District Director of NCCE, Mr. Christian Ahiawodzi, explained that Citizen Voice and Action is a social accountability approach aimed at strengthening dialogue and accountability between service providers, local government authorities, and community members for improved public service delivery.

He encouraged residents to identify challenges affecting their community, raise concerns with the appropriate authorities, and work persistently with stakeholders to find sustainable solutions.

Mr. Ahiawodzi noted that prioritizing CVA would help improve public services, create awareness of citizens’ rights and responsibilities, give community members a voice in local development, encourage active participation, and promote accountability among duty bearers.

He therefore urged the people of Agorhokpo to actively participate in community decision-making processes and use the CVA approach to contribute to the development of their community.
