NCCE whips up nationalism among residents of jaman south municipality

Jaman South Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has had a series of engagements with some Christian communities within the Municipality, as part of efforts to ignite a sense of nationalism, which seems to be taking a plummeting path among citizens of the country.

Highlighting the importance of active and participatory citizenry, Matthew Dzoboku who is an Assistant Civic Education Officer at the Office indicated the need for individuals who identify as true citizens of Ghana to show interest in tackling challenges and contributing their quota towards the development and prosperity of our beloved country.

He further stated that citizens have a crucial role to play in ensuring that the democracy we have secured since 1992 continues to prevail, charging them to seek accountability from duty bearers. “We all have a part to play in shaping the future of our nation; our small actions in our everyday lives collectively leads to significant change”, he opined.

Mr. Dzoboku, however, bemoaned the flagrant destructions caused to our environment following the perpetuation of illegal activities such as ‘galamsey’, deforestation, among others, tasking the public, especially the youth, to protect and safeguard the environment as provided in Article 41(k) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

He therefore admonished the populace to, as part of their civic duties to the country, exhibit patriotism by calling out individuals who are found engaging in such illicit acts that can pose danger to our environment.
